Cosmetic surgery increasingly popular among young women

Cosmetic surgery can truly claim to be an established feature of modern life, after a recent survey by Girlguiding UK revealed that younger women are more accepting of surgery than ever.

Half of 16 to 21-year-old girls asked said they would consider cosmetic surgery as an option to changes their looks… and there can be few greater endorsements of plastic surgery than receiving Girlguiding UK’s approval!

Why Go Abroad first highlighted this trend months ago, and a spokesman for the company said interest from younger people has continued to rise.

“Where once the majority of our procedures were face lifts, boob jobs or breast uplifts for women who were getting older, now we are seeing an increase in younger women and men turning to cosmetic surgery,” he said.

Change in cosmetic surgery trend

“Although our GMC-certified surgeons don’t operate on anyone under 18, we are certainly seeing a rise in procedures among young mums and those in their early 20s. As a result, treatments such as tummy tucks and liposuction are on the rise.

“Among young men, hair transplants remain popular as male pattern baldness is a real problem for some men in their 20s.”
