The gossip columns may love it, but US reality TV star Heidi Montag’s obsession with cosmetic surgery is a poor reflection of the industry.
Montag admitted to chat show host Jay Leno, on his Tonight Show, that she has now been ‘legally’ forbidden to have any more plastic surgery. However, she denied being addicted to cosmetic surgery.
She became famous for having 10 cosmetic procedures in just one day, including a breast enlargement, buttock augmentation, liposuction on her inner and outer thighs, collagen lip injections and rhinoplasty.
But experts at Why Go Abroad have warned off others looking to follow the 23-year-old’s lead.
Professional industry
“Cosmetic surgery has worked hard to establish itself as a professional industry, with rigorous standards of assessment and care, to help people from all walks of life become happier with their bodies,” said a spokesman.
“However, the idea that the super-rich can have 10 procedures in a day, buying whatever results they want instantly, is not a positive message.
“At Why Go Abroad we help adults of all ages but safety and professional practice are always our top priorities.”
