Breast Enlargement - Why Go Abroad?
Breast enlargement is the most popular cosmetic surgery procedure,
and one that
many millions of women thoughout the world have decided to have.
With the insertion of breast implants, surgeons are able to increase a woman's bust
line by one or more bra cup sizes. The implant is inserted into a cavity made by
the surgeon which is behind your natural breast tissue. It is inserted through a
incision made in the natural fold underneath the breast.
A breast augmentation may result in a more flattering, better proportioned figure
which gives you more clothing options, and could enhance your confidence and self-esteem
as it has done for the millions of women who have already had this cosmetic surgery
procedure.
Why have a breast augmentation?
Some reasons why women decide to have a Breast Augmentation are for personal reasons
such as, they feel their breast size is too small in comparison to their overall
body shape. Other reasons include correction of a reduction in breast volume after
pregnancy or weight loss. Another reason for a Breast enlargement is a reconstructive technique following
previous breast surgery.
Your consultation
During your medical consultation, your Surgeon will evaluate your health and expectations.
If your breasts are sagging, your surgeon may recommend a Mastopexy (uplift). Be
sure to discuss your expectations frankly with your Surgeon and be sure to say if
you smoke or you are taking any vitamins or medication.
Your Surgeon will assess your medical and family history and request any pre-operative
tests which may be necessary and discuss your expectations and explain what can
realistically be achieved. Your Surgeon will explain the risks and benefits of this
procedure, discuss the implants and recommend the implant most suited to you and
perform a thorough physical examination of the breast area.
The Surgeon may decide it is not in your best medical interest to proceed with surgery.
If you are not satisfied with your medical consultation, a second consultation with
another Surgeon can be arranged for a further opinion.
Surgeons and Anaesthetists
All of the Anaesthetists and Plastic Surgeons that would carry out your procedure
are fully qualified independent professionals who have successfully completed years
of training. The Surgeon undertaking the consultation will be scheduled to operate.
However in unforeseen circumstances it may be necessary to change Surgeons. In this
instance the replacement Surgeon would be of an equal standing. All the Surgeons

Post-op appointments
Post-operative follow-up is of paramount importance. Each patient undergoing Breast
Augmentation surgery will be given post operative appointments for wound management
and suture removal. Post-operative instructions are vital and we consider it very
important that you adhere to them. Failing to follow these guidelines and attend
your appointments can adversely affect the outcome of surgery and put patient safety
at risk.
