As we age our teeth become discoloured. The effects of smoking or certain food and
drinks can also stain and discolour our teeth. Teeth whitening treatment can help
by restoring your teeth and give you a younger fresher look.
How teeth whitening works
With professional bleaching, a rubber shield or gel is applied to cover the gums
for protection. A whitening product is then applied to the teeth. The total time
to complete the treatment is around three or four weeks. The treatment begins at
the dentists and is carried on at home by you. At home you will use the teeth whitening
product for about thirty minutes to an hour each session, for between two to four
weeks. After treatment is completed the results last between two and three years.
